Video Overview
HICONSUMPTION is walking through ten mini EDC pens for 2026. The channel has always been a pen-and-paper shop, and this guide shrinks that habit into writers you can clip to a pocket, a notebook, or a zipper. The list runs from a capped Japanese brass pen and an all-weather pocket pen to machined bolt and click pens, a flat bookmark pen, a key-ring stub, and a hand-forged brass pencil shape. Thanks to HICONSUMPTION for putting the short writers in one place instead of scattering them across ten separate videos.

Editor’s Insight
HICONSUMPTION splits this list by how a short pen becomes a pen you can actually hold. Thanks again to HICONSUMPTION for lining the ten writers up in one video. Four of them stay short until you post the cap on the back. The HIGHTIDE Penco Perfection Brass Ballpoint Pen is the Japanese capped pen in the first chapter. The Amazon listing is the brass pocket pen with oil-based black ink. You post the cap to reach a normal writing length, and it takes a small refill, so the body is the part you keep.
The Dango Mini Pen does the same job in aluminum. The maker page calls the cap a friction fit. You post that cap on the barrel instead of screwing it on. It comes in satin silver or jet black and ships with Dango’s own cartridge. The Fisher Matte Black Bullet Space Pen is the 400B. Closed, it is a short brass bullet with a powder-coated black finish. Open, the cap posts and the pen is a normal length. The cartridge is the pressurized Fisher refill. The Amazon listing and the maker’s own 400B page are the same pen.
The Rite in the Rain chapter is the all-weather pocket pen. The description names the flat dark earth FDE92. The purchase link does not open that single pen. It opens the TAC92 three-pack: flat dark earth, black, and OD green. Use that link if you want the pack. Do not expect a single FDE92 in the box.
The next group does not use a posted cap. The Big Idea Design Mini Bolt Action Pen is a solid-metal bolt pen about three and a half inches long. A bolt deploys a small D1 refill. The product card on the video tags the brass finish. The maker page also lists titanium, copper, and zirconium, so the link goes to the pen, not to one metal only. Copper showed sold out on that page.
The Tactile Turn line in the description is the bronze Side Click Mini. The short link opened the Short length instead. Short and Mini are different sizes, and the Mini was in stock. This post links the Mini the description names. Bronze will patina. The side click is the mechanism, not a bolt and not a cap. The Lamy Pico Ballpoint Pen, black, model L288, is the telescoping one. A double push extends the short body into a full ballpoint and back again. The Amazon listing is that black L288, not the chrome Pico.
Three pens are shaped for a specific carry. The Slughaus Nanopen is about 60 millimeters of anodized aluminum with a key ring, sold for a zipper pull. Do not expect a full writing grip from a pen that short. The CW&T Pen Type-C is the flat one. It rides in a notebook like a bookmark. A bent steel piece covers the tip until you flip it, and the ink is a Pilot Hi-Tec-C Coleto cartridge. Most finishes on the maker page were sold out when this post was checked. One finish still had stock. The link is the product page, not a promise that every color is open.
The Kakimori Tetzbo Chibien Z is the hand-forged one. Chibien means mini pencil, and the pen is shaped like a freshly sharpened pencil. Ironsmith Yoshikazu Takai makes each one by hand in brass, so the color is not identical from pen to pen. The description link lands on Kohezi, a retailer page, not on Kakimori’s own shop. That retailer page is the link here. None of these ten is a full-size desk pen. If you write long pages, a mini will annoy you once the novelty wears off. If you need a pen that is already in the pocket when a form shows up, match the mechanism to the carry: post a cap, throw a bolt or a click, flip a flat cover, or hang a stub on a zipper.
Closing Remarks
Watch HICONSUMPTION’s 2026 mini pen guide before you buy from the names alone. The video puts the ten writers in order, from the Penco Perfection to the Tactile Turn bronze mini. The links above go to the pens named in the description. The Rite in the Rain link opens the three-color pocket-pen pack, not a single flat-dark-earth pen. The Tactile Turn link is the Mini, because the short link had opened the Short by mistake. Hit play, then pick the mechanism that matches how you actually write.
