IT Everyday Carry Submitted By: David S.

I am an IT person by profession, but also an amateur musician and volunteer member of the Rural Fire Service (RFS), all of which affect my EDC in different ways. Most of my EDC “pocket dump” actually comes off my belt and off my keyring. I have always been somewhat into EDC, with a multi-function knife and pocket torch being constant companions for my whole adult life. Over the years I’ve added to this (e.g. with USB storage once they became small enough to carry), but it’s exploded since I joined the RFS, where I now carry a multi-tool and various seat-belt-cutting and first aid items.

My favorite EDC item has always been my Swiss Army Knife, which I use multiple times per day - particularly the scissors, which always seem to be in use. Over the years I’ve gone through many knives, each one bigger than the previous. Interestingly, the blade on these knives that gets the least use is always the cutting blades. Everything else is just so useful.
