Video Overview

Big thanks to EXCESSORIZE ME. for a first look that stays skeptical. In their UGREEN HomeAgent video, they say AI makes them uneasy, then show a local hub that is supposed to keep photos, video, and camera footage in the house. UGREEN is sponsoring the video. They say the opinions are still their own. The software is beta. The launch is a Kickstarter. This is not a finished review.

Editor’s Insight

EXCESSORIZE ME. are not smart-home experts, and they use that. Their studio already has plugs, switches, and cameras on separate systems. Apple Home lets them tell Siri to turn a light on or off. That is about it. HomeAgent is pitched as the next step: one local assistant, called Ulia in the demo, that can watch compatible gear and answer in plain language.

The claim that matters is local. UGREEN says the analysis runs on a chip in the box. Photos, videos, and security footage are not supposed to leave the house. If the internet drops, the core controls should still work. They have only had the unit about two weeks, and they cannot fully test the smarter alerts yet. Treat the baby-cry demo and the package demo as a demo, not as proof it will do that in your hallway.

What they do show is the shape of the product. It wants to be the one place for speakers, curtains, cameras, and storage. Matter devices from different brands can share one command, at least in the sleeping-mode example. Drives split camera footage from personal files. Their older photo system is folded into the same app, with a camera wall and an app store for later features. You can point it at an existing file share. It can also file photos by faces, food, or text. The fifth pitch is the controversial one: the same cameras that watch for trouble can clip happy moments. As a new dad, he wants that. He has not proven the highlight reel yet.

Kickstarter is the part he usually avoids. UGREEN already ships other products, which is why he is willing to look. A reserve is on offer before the campaign opens, and they mention cameras, batteries, and docks around the hub. None of that is in his hands as a finished system. If you back it, back the local-storage idea, not a promise that it already runs your whole house.

Closing Remarks

Watch EXCESSORIZE ME. run the demo before you reserve one. The useful part is the local-data claim and the beta warning, not the crying-baby clip. If you already juggle three smart-home apps, tell us whether a box in the house would actually replace them, or whether you would wait until the software leaves beta.
