Paracord Surface Mount Double Eyelet

Why I Like It
Paracord work is one of those hobbies that starts as “I’ll make one bracelet” and ends three years later with a dedicated drawer of cordage, jigs, and accessories. If you’re anywhere on that spectrum, the double eyelet surface mount is a piece you’ll reach for constantly. It’s a mounting point that anchors to a surface — table edge, clamp, post — and gives you two fixed eyelet points to tension cord against while you braid, knot, or weave.
The practical effect is that your hands stay free for the actual work instead of holding the starting end in place. For bracelets, lanyards, zipper pulls, and more complex decorative knotwork, this makes the whole process faster and cleaner. It’s also just a well-thought-out jig — the eyelets are sized right for 550 paracord without being so tight that it binds up as you work.
PETG at 30% infill is plenty — this doesn’t bear load, it just holds position. The mount base benefits from a brim in your slicer for adhesion since it’s a flat piece that wants to lift at the corners. Print a few and leave them in different spots in your workspace. They take up almost no room, cost almost nothing to print, and if you do any paracord work at all, they’ll earn their place immediately.
What Filament Should You Use?
Here’s a quick breakdown of the three most common filaments for EDC gear so you can pick the right one for your setup:
| Filament | Hardness | UV Resistance | Durability | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PETG | Medium | Fair | High | Everyday indoor/EDC carry, food-safe prints, flexible-tough balance |
| ABS | High | Poor | High | Rigid structural parts, heat-resistant applications (e.g. car/glove box gear) |
| ASA | High | Excellent ☀️ | Very High | Outdoor EDC, belt/bag attachments, anything exposed to sun or weather |
TL;DR: Use PETG for most EDC prints — easy to work with and tough enough. Use ASA if the piece will live outdoors or in direct sunlight. Use ABS if you need maximum rigidity and heat resistance and have an enclosure on your printer.
