Why I Like It

I’ll be honest — I printed 60 of these. That’s not an exaggeration. Once you print one and swap it onto a bag, you immediately start looking at every other zipper in your life and thinking “that one too.” The ergonomic shape gives your fingers a real grip surface instead of a tiny loop you’re pinching with your nails in the dark, and the form factor is just right — present when you need it, not snagging on anything when you don’t.

The glow-in-the-dark angle is the real sleeper feature here. A tent zipper, a sleeping bag, a IFAK pouch, a range bag — anything you might need to open fast in low light gets a massive upgrade from a glow pull. Print those in a glow-in-the-dark PETG, leave them under a light for a few minutes before bed, and you’ll never fumble for a zipper in the dark again. Highly recommend doing a mixed batch: a few in your main color scheme, a few in glow.

Material guidance: use a strong plastic — PETG minimum, ABS if the bag sees heat (car trunk in summer will absolutely kill PLA pulls). These cycle thousands of times over the life of a bag. 4 walls, 40% infill. The clip loop especially needs to be solid. Print the design flat on the bed. Quick to print, satisfying to batch, and one of the most universally appreciated prints you can hand to someone.

What Filament Should You Use?

Here’s a quick breakdown of the three most common filaments for EDC gear so you can pick the right one for your setup:

TL;DR: Use PETG for most EDC prints — easy to work with and tough enough. Use ASA if the piece will live outdoors or in direct sunlight. Use ABS if you need maximum rigidity and heat resistance and have an enclosure on your printer.
